alberta's top average winners

Unlike All American Teams where points are the goal, the Alberta All Star Team placements are based on a combined average of all three disciplines, (Singles, Doubles, and Handicap) throughout the course of a single ATA season.

The shooters must be Albertan residents, be a member in good standing of the APTA  for the current target tear, and meet minimum  requirements.

Calculations are based on composite average of ATA registered targets; a minimum of 1000 singles, 1000 handicap and 700 doubles, for the first and second teams, and minimum 700 singles, 700 handicap and 500 doubles for Lady 1 and 2, Sub Junior, Junior, Junior Gold,Sub-Vet, Vet and Senior Vet high category average.  As of 2014, 50% of the above minimums must be shot in Alberta.

Its no small feat in our province as we have some of  the best shooters in the country. Shooters attaining a place on the first team for the first time receive an APTA ring, and as a second team, repeat team member, or as a new high category winner, pins are awarded.

With the APTA By-Law Update in 2016, Qualifications for the 2017 All Star Teams and Hi Categories have changed!!!

-For 1st and 2nd Teams, & Hi Discipline Ave's: Minimum 1000 Singles, 1000 Handicap, and 800 Doubles, 50% of the minimum must be shot in Alberta

-For Lady1, Lady2, Sub-Vet, Vet, & Sr-Vet: Minimum 1000 Singles, 1000 Handicap, and 800 Doubles, 50% of the minimum must be shot in Alberta

-For Sub-Jr, Junior, & Jr-Gold: 500 Singles, 500 Handicap, and 300 Doubles, where 300 singles, 300 handicap and 200 doubles must be shot in Alberta
