november 2016 alberta trap & field report

Alberta trapshooting activities and accomplishments

Winter is again upon us in Alberta, but there has been lots of shooting take place in the last several months.
The Alberta All Star Team is announced, congratulations to all shooters who have worked hard towards earning these honors. To view click here.
Also, congratulations are in order for this years All Americans, Diane Peyton, Bert Brumwell and yours truly.  It was a tougher year for Albertans this year but we have still made our presence known on the North American front.

There where several major shoots in the US recently that  Alberta shooters have done well at.  Diane Peyton picked up trophies at the Heartland Grand, Nevada State and most recently a breezy Autumn Grand in Tucson.  Art has had ups and downs but defended his singles sub vet title in Las Vegas, and also won singles sub vet championship in the Autumn Grand Prelim, along with several other trophies.  Watch for more results for Alberta shooters in trap and field.

A couple of milestones at the Autumn Grand, Donna Crockford and Jacob Johnson both shot there first 100’s, congratulations Dona and Jacob!  Jake also won runner up in the Jr Gold category with a strong 196 in the wind.

It was great to see Kevin Cole make his debut to the autumn grand, and to see Tina and Brian Chudoba pick up a few events, we hope to see them on the circuit in future.

Programs for the Canadian in Edmonton and the Provincial in Calgary are now going to print and will be out by the time this is published.  The Canadian will be an All American points shoot this year, so if you are from the US and want to visit Canada, this is a perfect time to come. Plans are also moving forward for the Provincial in Calgary, again, thanks to Bill and Lea Ann Martin for the generous support of this prestigious event.  The Provincial again will be featuring a free clinic for Alberta Junior shooters,  and of coarse the great Calgary Firearms Centre  background where big scores can be shot
